Making such a dark and interesting story palatable without diluting its harsh themes, this is an oddly inspiring, and beautiful movie about parental love and sacrifice, lead by 2 powerful showstopping performances by Jacob Trembley and Brie Larson. One of the greatest films ever made. 10/10

Subversive in every way shape and form, wickedly and uncomfortably funny, and endlessly creative, this is a fantastic deconstruction of horror films, and ironically one of the greatest horror films of all time. 9.9/10

Tense, claustrophobic, and surprising, this is a genuinely creepy and well directed thriller, which shows great promise about debut director Dan Trachtenberg, though the film is slightly marred by a distracting character inconsistency. 8.9/10

Giving a fresh perspective on the age old story, this is a refreshing breath of fresh air for Biblical filmmaking, with really good performances, smooth and clear direction, and an organic message, even if the budget limitation is clear a number of times, and if the film could've been trimmed a bit. 8.1/10
