A standard action film premise, with nothing added to make it stand out, the film is pretty dull for an action film, with actors that look disinterested, by-the-numbers and sloppily edited action scenes, and massive plot conveniences.

Some of the effects are incredible, and there are some interesting ideas, but the film is marred by poor characterization, predictability, and several scenes that make you scratch your head in either confusion, or incredulity.

James Gunn tries to make lightning strike twice, and is mostly successful, even if the 2nd act kind of meanders for a little bit, but this is an exciting, entertaining, and fun movie, which boasts both some of the MCU's best antagonists, and climax.
